PIT-UN SUMMIT

The Public Interest Technology University Network reimagined its annual convening in 2024, launching the PIT-UN Summit as the marquee event for public interest technologists from across academia, government, civil society, and industry.

From Reflection to Action: Reimagining PIT’s Possibilities

The PIT-UN Summit 2025, taking place October 27-29, in Seattle, brings together a diverse group of thought leaders, educators, practitioners, and community stakeholders to rethink how technology can serve society. This intimate, one-day gathering invites participants to co-create innovative solutions and build cross-sector partnerships to shape the future of public interest technology. Discussions will focus on sustaining and advancing the PIT ecosystem amid uncertainty, breaking down systemic barriers in the tech pipeline, and platforming community-centered approaches to equitable technology.

With a strong emphasis on civic engagement, workforce development, and strengthening democratic resilience, the summit will foster honest reflection, open dialogue, and a collective vision of PIT work. Together, we’ll explore how PIT can thrive across geographies, institutions, and sectors—and chart a course toward a more just and impactful technological future.
