PIT-UN Tech for Change Guidelines Overview

The guidelines that follow are intended to define and inform the PIT-UN Tech for Change brand — how we look, sound, and feel — when used by approved audiences. This document outlines usage for our logos, typefaces, color palettes, design application, and more.

Why do I need brand guidelines?

Brands are more than a logo and color scheme. Our brand identity thoughtfully and collaboratively came together to preserve our visual identity and build recognition, as well as protect our brand presence, and resonate with new and existing audiences.

Brand Values and Mission

Who We Are

Students can broaden their public interest technology knowledge and collaborate across disciplines through Tech for Change’s national advisory board and university chapters.

Incorrect Logo Usage

The PIT-UN TFC logo should not be adjusted or edited in any way. The following one through nine examples of what not to do to ensure brand consistency and uphold brand integrity.

Color Usage

Our core colors are how we express ourselves, boldly and proudly, whereas our secondary color palette allows for expansive expression and inclusion.

Brand Typeface

Primary Typeface

Consistent use of typography help keep the brand identity strong and cohesive across all applications. Please use either the Adobe font Kallisto or the free font Orbitron.

Font Use

Consistent use of typography means that headlines are roughly 60 percent bigger than body copy, the use of automatic setting for leading, and a single line spacing between a headline and sub-headline. For dynamic titles and statements, use Kallisto Heavy set in title case or full case scaled oversized.

Brand Visuals

Image Use

Use high quality, non-pixelated imagery only. For print material, use 300 dpi images only. Do not stretch or skew photos to maintain design integrity.

Photography and Stock Imagery

Photography helps convey PIT-UN Tech for Change’s brand and voice. These are examples of the type of vibrant, diverse, and action-oriented photography that best demonstrates the brand.

Iconography

The icons were created with care to augment PIT-UN Tech for Change creative. Icons should never substitute the primary logo or be edited, but can be incorporated into designed materials.

Design Application

Following are several examples of PIT-UN Tech for Change creative, including covers, web graphics, and banner ads, that illustrate recommended brand protocols.
